Professional Learning Planning Workshop sets clear course for future

Professional Development is best achieved through cooperation.

That’s why we invited a group of teachers from our partner schools to come to Monash Tech School for a Professional Learning Planning workshop.

The purpose of the morning workshop was not only to reflect on past experiences with professional development but to work with us to identify possible improvements and co-design different approaches that we can utilise in Professional Development workshops in future.

After recalling the ups and downs of their previous workshops, the teachers designed their own activity for such a professional development program. The ideas included incorporating The Victorian Teaching and Learning Model, a process for creating their own units of work, and strategies for improving teachers’ understanding of new technologies.

Working in teams made up of different schools, the workshop was a fantastic opportunity for the teachers to exchange their thoughts and ideas about professional development.
