What an exciting hub #EduTECH2023 has been! Inspiring to see what the future of education holds.
Monash Tech School had the opportunity to exhibit as part of the Tech Schools stand for EduTECH. The MTS showcase featured a snapshot of our Superspace program, highlighting how we use Mixed Reality and EMG technologies to engage students.
Members of the MTS staff had the opportunity to talk and engage with other educators and industry professionals about the programs we have on offer and the wider Tech School initiative. With a noteworthy visit from the Parliamentary Secretary, Vicki Ward.
Media Tech Coordinator Stephanie Vella worked determinedly in the lead-up to EduTECH to create an augmented reality asset within Dreemar, which provided visitors to the Tech School’s stand with a novel opportunity to engage in and learn more about our online programs offerings, including Superskills, Superjobs, Superbio and Superdigital.
The Tech Schools Stand was kept buzzing over the two days by the range of exciting, engaging and diverse technologies, programs and knowledge showcased by our fellow Tech Schools alongside the Science Centre of Excellence, Knox Innovation Opportunity & Sustainability Centre and Victoria’s Science and Mathematics Specialist Centers.
Beyond our exhibit, our team immersed themselves in a whirlwind of workshops, industry panels, and presentations, exploring the latest cutting-edge technologies and methodologies shaping the education landscape. From sessions focussed on the future of AI to how to integrate First Nations perspectives into cyber security education, the team explored everything EduTech had to offer.
Adding to the excitement this year, we had the opportunity to showcase Monash Maker Faire at an additional stand. With notable help from Makey - the giant Mascot for the Worldwide Maker Movement, we were able to successfully start our promotion for the December 1, 2024 Monash Maker Faire date. Speaking with like-minded individuals who celebrate technology, education, diversity, and community was a key highlight. EduTech gives us a fantastic opportunity to engage potential sponsors who have the motivation and means to help us drive the Maker Faire movement at Monash Maker Faire 2024. MTS Director, Neil Carmona-Vickery further helped spread the word in his speaker session centred on the power of Maker Faires to engage communities.
EduTech is always an exciting event in the calendar at MTS, an opportunity to share, learn, grow and evolve. We can’t wait to see what next year brings!
