On Sunday 19th November the team of the Monash Tech School and some willing helpers ventured down to Batesford Reserve, Chadstone to participate in the City of Monash Ashwood/Chadstone Family Fun Day. The weather shined upon us and we set about displaying all things that the Monash Tech School is about.
On display in our rather large marquee (a big thanks to the City of Monash), we filled it with student prototypes, 3D printing displays, a 3D printer which was going through its motions, laser cutter models as well as information about what we have and will be doing at the Monash Tech School. Visitors also could take time to view images of items placed under the Omni Digital Microscope, another piece of equipment that students will use in their investigations when participating in our programs.
Visitors to our tent, both young and old, also had the opportunity to try their hand at navigating their way through the Sphero obstacle course which had been made at our Makerthon the previous week. Children enjoyed navigating their Sphero with iPads while their parents found out more about what the Monash Tech School is offering to secondary students. Â A few tears were shed from keen Sphero enthusiasts when it was time to move onto the next activity at the Family Fun Day!
A huge thanks to Ashley, Chava, Matt, Neil, Sandra, Xander and City of Monash.
