Tech Schools vs
Regular Schools

We know Tech Schools work a little differently to regular schools in Victoria. 

​

We work with partner schools in our local area, who can hop on a bus to visit the Monash Tech School (MTS) for a 1 or 2-day program of hands-on STEM experiences and design thinking challenges. It's a new group of students in the building almost every day!

​

We are on-site almost every day from 8:30am to 4:30pm, and it helps us to collaborate in small teams and as a whole. We design programs and test out new technology. Sometimes it gets loud and messy, but we have small breakout rooms for collaborating and making videocalls.

 

Some days we take equipment and visit our partner schools to work collaboratively with teachers to deliver the "Beyond" programs.

We deliver industry-based immersion programs at different sites around Melbourne. MTS also offers online programs via Zoom. 

​

Our programs are experience-based, so there aren't any assessments or exams. We don't have a canteen or playground, so there's no playground duty, but we reset equipment and find a way to eat lunch together.

Professional Learning

We explore emerging technologies and techniques. We recognise how students access, learn, and create using new technologies.​ We work with other professionals from industry, academia, community and government agencies to deliver cutting-edge STEM experiences to learners.
